Nonprofit managers must be prepared to protect the business, employees, volunteers, and themselves from legal liability. This course will outline the major federal employment-related laws and regulations (for example, Title VII, ADA, ADEA, USERRA, EEOC Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures, Immigration Reform and Control Act, Internal Revenue Code). It will provide nonprofit managers with the tools necessary to identify compliance “red flags” and the knowledge to know when to take action to rectify a situation, and when to seek legal advice.
