Our cause is simple: to create thriving communities by helping nonprofits succeed.
We remove barriers that thwart purpose driven people from transforming intent to impact; we provide transformative opportunities that create informed and prepared leaders; we convene diverse problem solvers to spark shared understanding and inclusive solutions for real-world challenges; and we champion support for the sector’s work.
By supporting the purpose, potential, and values that make the nonprofit sector a unique contributor to our collective quality of life – and to Georgia’s economic well-being – we position great causes to ignite what is possible in leaders, communities, and individuals.
GCN creates thriving communities by helping nonprofits succeed.
Our work revolves around four primary areas of focus. In short, we are:
GCN was formed in 1990 to provide a mechanism for growing social impact by supporting the infrastructure and policy needs of Georgia’s nonprofit industry.
Starting as a project of the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, GCN is now one of the largest capacity building organizations in the country and a nationally recognized solutions provider for the nonprofit sector.
GCN is the most comprehensive provider of sector-specific solutions and strategy support in the Southeast and the largest association for nonprofits in Georgia.
We serve over 5,000 organizations annually in Georgia alone, and thousands more through our national social enterprise Work for Good. Through GAgives on GivingTuesday, GCN mobilizes hundreds of thousands of donors each year, resulting in more than $70 million raised for Georgia nonprofits to date.
As a leading social impact consultant, advisor, and solution provider for nonprofits, philanthropies, and corporate investors – and as a nonprofit ourselves – our impact and our accountability are of equal importance.
