We hear so much about ‘green buildings’.  What does that mean, and why is it important?  How can ‘going green’ positively impact your facility and your budget? Learn how to define and implement sustainable projects and how to finance them through community initiatives.

Course Objectives

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe the concept of sustainability, and explain why sustainable practices are advantageous to your facility.
  • Determine sustainability projects that will benefit your facility.
  • Give examples of resources for funding sustainability projects through community initiatives.
  • Identify potential challenges in implementing sustainability projects.

Southface promotes sustainable homes, workplaces and communities through education, research, advocacy and technical assistance. As the technical partner for Grants to Green, Southface and The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, assist nonprofit organizations in a 23-county Atlanta region by assessing their facilities to identify and implement high-impact opportunities for reducing operating costs and environmental impact, ideally saving finances to increase program services. www.southface.org
