Overview

A budget is a realistic plan for the future expressed in monetary terms that reflects an organization’s programs, mission, and strategic plan.  Due to differing kinds and levels of complexity, each organization must develop a budget formulation process that meets its individual needs. During this course we will discuss the key elements of a good budget planning process.

This class was formerly numbered as ACCT 220. It has been changed as part of a restructuring of NU’s Finance and Accounting courses to better reflect the content level and intended audience.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course, you will be able to:
  • Construct an effective budget process that aligns with your strategic plan.
  • Build an effective budget format.
  • Define roles and responsibilities in an optimal budget process.
