Lisa Medellin, Principal Consultant at Kalos Social Impact Consulting, is a strategically focused and dynamic executive with over 15 years of leadership experience across philanthropy, healthcare, and the social impact sector.

Recognized for her ability to blend strategic insight with analytical precision, Lisa has consistently driven transformational outcomes, optimized operational efficiency, and led the execution of complex multidimensional initiatives. A proven expert in maximizing the impact of funding initiatives, Lisa has led efforts to enhance health equity, strengthen community engagement, and implement innovative strategies that generate measurable results. Her approach is grounded in data-driven decision-making and best practices, enabling her to advance program outcomes and cultivate sustainable improvements across organizations and communities. 

Lisa began her tenure at the Georgia Health Initiative (formerly Healthcare Georgia Foundation) in 2005. Over 18 years, she ascended through critical leadership roles including Senior Program Officer, Director of Programs, and ultimately, Vice President of Community Engagement. In these capacities, she shaped the Foundation’s strategic direction, managed over $70 million in grantmaking, and significantly elevated its visibility and influence statewide. Among her most notable achievements, designed and led the nationally recognized Two Georgias Initiative, a $10 million investment supporting 11 rural communities and recipient of the 2022 Truist Promise Award; engineered the Foundation’s COVID-19 Crisis Relief Funding Strategy in 2020 by providing rapid-response funding across Georgia and led the redesign of the Foundation’s grantmaking strategy and authored a comprehensive Health Equity Framework. 

She has authored articles, served on grant award committees for national foundations, served as a content expert on podcasts, webinars and in-person public speaking events on health equity, philanthropic investment strategies, the Social Determinants of Health and rural health investments.
