Policy alert: What to know about HR 9495, the “Stop Terror-Financing and Tax Penalties on American Hostages Act”
Section 4 of this bill includes language that would allow the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury to designate a nonprofit as a terrorist-supporting organization, suspend its exempt status, and possibly shut it down.
