Federal Contracts, Grants, and the New Landscape of Risk and Compliance

As a provider of vital community services, managing risks related to federal funding compliance is essential to sustaining your mission and impact.

If you receive funding from ANY government source, you may not even realize they are federal funds. And if you receive sponsorship or grants from a company or other private sources, you may not be aware that they are managing risks subject to their own compliance obligations. The Georgia Center for Nonprofits is hosting a focused training to support our valued nonprofit partners in navigating this complex landscape.

This practical, 90-minute virtual session, led by experts at the Georgia Center for Nonprofits and Arnall Golden Gregory LLP, will provide an overview of the changed grant compliance landscape, equip your team to assess and manage risks for federally funded programs, and share the perspective of sponsors and donors facing new compliance issues.

Whether your funding is direct, sub-granted, or derived from federal sources, this training offers actionable guidance.

What you’ll learn:

  • Key federal compliance requirements relevant to your funding streams.
  • Top risk areas and red flags to watch out for in your programs.
  • How to assess your organization’s specific compliance gaps and challenges.
  • Practical tools and strategies to monitor, manage, and mitigate risks.
  • Answers to your questions via an interactive Q&A with the facilitators.

You’ll come away with heightened awareness of your compliance obligations, your organization’s key risk areas, and information to help you create a plan to shore up your practices. Participants will receive a Compliance Risk Assessment Tool and Planning Guide to facilitate next steps.

Your work and mission are important. This training will position your organization to proactively manage requirements, avoid common pitfalls, and protect the sustainability of your essential programs – offered at no cost to help our nonprofit sector navigate this new compliance environment.
