Overview

Amidst our nation’s ongoing reckoning over police brutality, institutional bias, and the full effects of systemic racism, it is important to keep moving forward in our efforts to address bias, inclusion, and equity in our organizations.

This two-part bundle – geared towards nonprofit leadership – includes both Strategies for Eliminating Bias in Nonprofit Organizations and Creating a Culture of Inclusion classes. Participants will leave with practical concepts for developing trust, workplace inclusiveness, and culturally responsive programs, plus best practices for establishing and maintaining inclusivity in your organization.

Note: Class times are in the Eastern Time zone.

Learning Objectives

At the end of Strategies for Eliminating Bias in Nonprofit Organizations, you will be able to:

  • Implement best practices to eliminate the potential for bias and promote diversity in the talent recruitment and hiring process.
  • Respond to incidents of bias in the workplace.
  • Define unconscious bias and racism as well as how they are related.

At the end of Creating a Culture of Inclusion, you will be able to:

  • Describe the seven principles for developing a culture of inclusion.
  • Identify at least two strategies for eliminating bias from your nonprofit work environments.
  • Respond to incidents of bias in the workplace.

Audience

Best for organizational leaders – executives, board members, and senior staff – as well as managers/supervisors, especially those overseeing program teams and other units that face and engage with local communities.
