ATLANTA — February 9, 2024. The Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN) is proud to announce the appointment of new Board Chair John UyHam, Cargill Inc. Managing Associate General Counsel – Global M&A Practice Lead.
GCN also recognizes outgoing Board Chair Erika Noorwood for her contributions to our mission. Under her tenure, GCN has expanded our mission reach by scaling our flagship programs, Nonprofit University and the Nonprofit Consulting Group; catalyzed over $89.5 million through the GAgives on GivingTuesday campaign, led by GCN; and bought and renovated a permanent home for GCN at 881 Memorial Drive in Atlanta. About John UyHam
John UyHam is Managing Associate General Counsel – Global M&A Practice Lead at Cargill, Inc. In this role, John is responsible for managing a team of global professionals providing legal and strategic advice on Cargill’s global mergers and acquisitions activities. Prior to joining Cargill, John had a 15-year career with The Coca-Cola Company, where he worked on Coca-Cola’s strategic transactions across six continents and advised the company’s treasury and finance functions, principally with respect to debt issuances and other securities issues.
From 2017 through 2021 John served as the chair of Coca-Cola’s Legal Division Diversity Council, and he was a 2014 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellow. John previously spent several years in private practice in M&A and securities law at King & Spalding, LLP in Atlanta and New York and at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky and Walker, LLP in Atlanta. John received his J.D. from the Columbia University School of Law and his A.B from Duke University.
