GAgives on GivingTuesday 2022: Another Success!

ATLANTA – GAgives on GivingTuesday 2022 was another resounding success! What began as an initiative to help nonprofits reach new donors and adopt powerful online fundraising tools – amidst the storm of the Great Recession – has become a full-fledged giving movement. Nonprofits now utilize many platforms to reach donors, and donors increasingly depend on online giving portals like GAgives.org that make it easy to research and donate directly to nonprofits. More than 13,000 donors – incentivized by prizes from sponsors like Arby’s and WestRock – gave this year through the GAgives.org giving platform alone, benefiting over 1,100 organizations! And it’s worth noting, once again, that GAgives has raised over $90 million for nonprofits across the state since its 2012 inception.

Of course, our work at GAgives continues: coordinating the statewide media campaign that builds awareness of nonprofits’ work and worth in our communities, encouraging new donors to support their efforts, and empowering nonprofits with training and tools to help them leverage new and innovative ways to reach supporters. We are incredibly proud of the many, many nonprofits that are utilizing a full array of online platforms and communication channels as a result of our work creating Georgia’s biggest giving movement. We are equally proud that so many Georgians contribute to local causes in the groundswell of generosity that our campaign generates each year.

In the coming days, we will be tallying all the funding directed to Georgia charities across the major online giving platforms, and provide you with the full scope of our campaign’s results. The total amount of funds raised last year was $27.1 million, and we are hopeful that we have exceeded that amount in the 2022 campaign. Regardless, we salute our state’s incredible generosity – from Georgia’s nonprofit workers, who dedicate their professional lives to serving others, to the Georgian’s vast numbers of donors and volunteers, who dedicate their valuable money, time, and talent to supporting nonprofits.

Keep your eye on the GAgives media page for the full results as they become available.
