About Sonya
Sonya A. Milner is a nonprofit executive with more than 15 years of direct fundraising experience. Sonya is a SME in all areas of fundraising, including fundraising leadership, annual giving, planned giving, major gifts, donor development, caseload management, board development, volunteer recruitment, nonprofit marketing, and nonprofit leadership, among others.
Sonya is currently working with a national nonprofit organization, where she raises awareness of the importance of legacy giving and increases fundraising capacity by cultivating, stewarding, and soliciting donors.
Among her nearly 30 years of experience in philanthropy, nonprofit management,
and corporate leadership, Sonya has previously held leadership positions with the Interdenominational Theological Center, The Salvation Army, Nicholas House, and Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta. Prior to her career in nonprofits, Sonya spent 15 years at Delta Air Lines, where she worked in varied leadership roles, including marketing manager for the Delta Community Credit Union, where she helped make DCCU the largest credit union in Georgia.
As a proud native of Atlanta, Sonya is well acquainted with the city’s philanthropic landscape, and she is a passionate advocate for the role donors and funders can play in creating opportunities and improving lives.
