Nonprofit University FAQs

Registering for a Class or Certificate Series

NU certificate series typically consist of multiple courses that cover different aspects of a particular subject matter. Each course within the series builds upon the previous one to provide a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the topic. Only attendees who complete all the classes in a NU certificate will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

If you are unsure about which NU class or certificate series would be best for you, feel free to call Nonprofit University at 678-916-3081. We will ask you about your interests, goals, and experience level, then recommend the best-fit class or series. If your desired event is less than 48 hours away, please email nu@gcn.org.

NU classes are structured for live learning and engagement with the class and instructor. NU classes do tend to be offered more frequently, so it is possible that a future offering of the class may be a better option. If you would like to know when the next offering for a class or certificate series will be held, please email nu@gcn.org.

This means that there were duplicate registrations in our system. This happens when someone starts the registration process but does not complete payment until a later time. We recommend not starting a registration unless a payment can be made at that time. (Each time you start the registration process for a class, the system will “hold” the registration. When a payment is not made, the system automatically cancels the unpaid registration.)

If you paid for a class/certificate and did not receive a payment receipt, please email nu@gcn.org

Class materials will be accessible before the start of the class. Attendees who registered at least 72 hours in advance of class time will receive a DropBox link with the materials through a calendar invite and an email reminder that will be sent to attendees 48 hours in advance. To access the class materials, just click the DropBox link included in both the calendar invite and email reminder. To ensure you continue to receive important reminders and class materials, please add nu@gcn.org to your email address book.

On occasion, we may need to postpone a class because of unavoidable circumstances – for example, inclement weather, power outages, public-safety events, technical challenges beyond our control, or faculty illness.

In the event of a class postponement, all registered participants will receive notification via email as soon as the decision to postpone is made, which will include either a new date for the event or a timeframe for when that decision will be announced. If you want to check the status a class in the event of publicly-known external factors (like inclement weather), please call 678-916-3081 or email nu@gcn.org

Any registrant choosing to cancel their class registration will receive a refund minus a $25 processing fee. Notice of withdrawal must be received at least five (5) business days prior to the class. No refunds will be made after that date under any circumstances.

If you need to withdraw from a class, please email nu@gcn.org.

Post-Class or -Series Concerns

To receive a Certificate of Attendance, it is necessary to attend all the classes within that series. While it is perfectly acceptable to attend one or two classes in a certificate series, only attendees who register for the entire certificate and attend all the classes will be eligible to receive the certificate. If you are unsure if a class is part of a certificate series, please click here to view our Course Catalog

Attendees will have access to the class materials for 30 days. We recommend downloading the class materials to your device immediately upon receipt. Additionally, having the class materials saved on your device will allow you to easily reference them at a later date when you need to review or refresh your knowledge.
