In our first year of operation as a nonprofit, The Becoming Love Project aims to establish a dynamic and inclusive space for individuals to explore the deep connection between self-love and creative storytelling. As a new nonprofit, we are focused on creating programs that bridge the gap between personal growth and the power of media. Our goal is to provide a nurturing environment for emerging storytellers—especially those whose voices are underrepresented—to use writing, filmmaking, and other forms of storytelling as a tool for healing and transformation. We recognize the urgent need for a collective shift in consciousness. The events of the past few years have underscored the need for change—on both a societal and personal level. The Becoming Love Project is here to address this need by fostering a community that believes in the healing power of personal narratives. We provide an outlet for self-expression, a platform for voices to be heard, and a space for creativity to flourish.
The Becoming Love Project is an emerging nonprofit organization committed to leveraging the transformative power of storytelling to advance mental wellness, emotional resilience, and community empowerment. Our inaugural year will introduce two flagship initiatives: **The Love Collective**, an interdisciplinary series of workshops and curated events designed to foster creative expression and promote self-actualization, and **The Heart Awards**, a distinguished program honoring trailblazers and organizations that demonstrate exemplary contributions to mental health advocacy and community enrichment. Central to our mission is a robust community outreach strategy that prioritizes equitable access to resources, creating inclusive spaces for underrepresented populations to engage in narrative exploration as a pathway to healing and self-care. Through the intersection of media, mental health, and cultural storytelling, we aspire to catalyze meaningful societal change. We are actively seeking visionary board members who will provide strategic oversight, governance, and leadership to ensure the successful execution of our ambitious programming and long-term impact.
We anticipate that board members will contribute approximately 6–10 hours per month, particularly during the foundational first year of The Love Collective and The Heart Awards programming. This time commitment includes attendance at monthly board meetings, participation in key committees, and involvement in fundraising, outreach, and program development efforts. As a newly forming nonprofit, we understand that board members’ time and availability may vary, and we are committed to fostering a collaborative environment that aligns with the unique skills and interests of our board members. We seek individuals who are passionate about our mission and willing to invest time in building a meaningful, lasting impact in the areas of mental wellness and storytelling. We look forward to your contributions as we launch and grow these essential programs that will make a transformative difference in our community.
