GEEARS has been selected as a recipient of Worldreader’s Let’s Get Children Reading Grant.

CHRIS 180 expanded its wide range of behavioral health services by introducing the Medication Assisted Treatment program, merging medication, counseling, and behavioral therapy for a comprehensive approach to addiction treatment – the first of its kind within the Atlanta Perimeter.

Tommy Nobis Center was recognized as one of the 2023 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For In the Nation by the National Association for Business Resources for the fourth consecutive year.

▼ HomeAid Atlanta, Gwinnett Housing Corporation, and partners held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Gwinnett County’s first Homeowner Resource Center, made possible by over $60,000 in donated labor and materials. In addition, HomeAid delivered approximately 200,000 baby items to 27 local nonprofits for its 22nd annual Essentials Drive, and provided over $20,000 in construction cost savings for The Drake House through a recent HomeAid Care Day.

The newly unveiled HealthMPowers website offers tools, knowledge, and other resources for youth to gain control over their health through better nutritional and exercise decisions.

The National Center for Civil and Human Rights raised approximately $566,600 during its Power to Inspire event, a one-night-only theatrical performance of the August 1963 March on Washington. In addition, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff recently unveiled a $1.4 million appropriations grant for the Center, enabling the establishment of a new gallery, the expansion of the Martin Luther King Jr. exhibit space, and the creation of a new exhibit, Bearing Witness.

▼ Kate's Club held its 20th Annual Mourning Glory Gala, raising $410,000 to assist grieving youth throughout Georgia.

Rainbow Village’s 2023 Second Chance Golf Classic, presented by Northside Hospital, raised $190,777.

At their Seeds of Change luncheon, BCM Georgia presented 10 single mothers and families with Extra Wish grants, providing financial assistance for various necessities, such as dental care, debt management, educational expenses, and other positive endeavors.

At their 2023 Soiree, Catholic Charities Atlanta raised over $230,000, including $100,000 through the Fund-a-Need portion of the evening specifically for their Mental Health Counseling Programs.

During the 10th annual Heart and Home Gala, Intown Collaborative Ministries raised over $310,000 and welcomed Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens to introduce the organization’s new name and visual identity, Intown Cares.

The Atlanta BeltLine received $2.2 million for the development of Enota Park through the City of Atlanta’s allocation of the State of Georgia’s American Rescue Plan Act funding.

People

CURE Childhood Cancer introduced Paige Johnson as their new Chief Marketing Officer and Ann Cox to the board of directors.

Betty & David Fitzgerald Foundation welcomed Angela Ballantyne as its new Grantmaking and Operations Associate.

Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities named Tracey Atwater president and CEO.

North Fulton Community Charities announced Konda Pollard and Barbara Blevens has joined their board of directors.

Horizons Atlanta welcomed to their board, Rodes Bazzel, Tyler Cook, Christina Graham, Angira Sceusi, Keith White, John Brock, Mary Brock, Irene Oakley Johnson, Stacy Goodman Scott, and Dave Stockert.

Atlanta Pride named Chris McCain as Executive Director.

Georgians for a Healthy Future welcomed Angelica Rivera to the role of Health Insurance Navigator, focusing on LGBTQ+ and Native Georgians, and celebrated the addition of four new board members: Deric Gilliard, Berneta Haynes, Wayne Hoffman, and Bob Trammell.

Status: Home (formerly Jerusalem House) appointed three new board members, Joey Angloinga-Keeney, Marcus D. Benning, and Lauren Waits.
