The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta is now accepting requests for their Extra Wish catalog, which gives donors the chance to purchase tangible goods for Metro area organizations.

Gwinnett County nonprofits providing emergency food and shelter can now apply for ARPA funding through July 27.

Grantmakers

United Way of Greater Atlanta has partnered with Invest Atlanta to administer the new Atlanta Recovery Loan Program, providing small businesses and nonprofits with low-interest loans of up to $100,000, funded by a $20 million donation from Wells Fargo.

South Arts and the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta welcomed True Colors Theatre Company and 16 other Southeast nonprofits into the inaugural cohort of their Southern Cultural Treasures initiative, supporting BIPOC-led and -serving cultural nonprofits with 3-year, $300,000 general operating grants, consulting services, networking, and more.

Habitat for Humanity DeKalb received a two-year, unrestricted Black Women Impact Grant from Goldman Sachs’ One Million Black Women initiative.

The Georgia Food Bank Association has changed its name to Feeding Georgia, aligning it more closely with national partner Feeding America.

▼ Volunteers from HomeAid Atlanta provided $7,500 in facility repairs and upgrades, as well as organizing donated goods, for Atlanta Children’s Shelter during their June 24 HomeAid Care Day.

Goodwill of North Georgia has been recognized as the top Goodwill chapter in the nation for persons employed, having helped 16,000 North Georgia residents find work in 2021.

Quality Care for Children has been named one of the seven finalists for the inaugural Truist Foundation Inspire Awards, a grant program recognizing innovative nonprofit solutions presented in partnership with MIT Solve.

CHRIS 180 held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of The Glover Project, a new transitional housing facility for young mothers experiencing homelessness.

TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation has welcomed Anne Arwood and Daniel Mark to their board.

Atlanta Angels announced that Case Manager Olivia Maley earned a Masters in Social Work in May and has moved into a full-time position, and that they have welcomed new Operations Coordinator Ashley Hackel to the team.

Children’s Museum of Atlanta has selected Edwin Link as their new Executive Director.

Sur Legal Collaborative Co-Founder and ED Shelly Anand was selected as a 2022 Echoing Green Fellow, which comes with leadership development training and $80,000 in funding.

The Atlanta Community Food Bank has added Janine Anthony Bowen, Shawn Cole, Jacqueline Flake, Jennifer McKeehan, Camye Mackey, and Claire E. Sterk to their board.

Atlanta Habitat for Humanity has selected Alan Ferguson as new President and CEO.

Emily Castillo León has been named new Senior Director of Schools at redefinED Atlanta.

Voices for Georgia’s Children welcomed Dr. Gwndolyn Benson, Dan Fischer, and Dr. Yasmin Tyler-Hill to their board.

Georgia Conservancy has named Virginia Harman as new Board Chair.

Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta welcomed two new staff members: Gift Planning Officer Josh Dukelow and Controller Andrea Lawyer.

StreetWise Georgia announced that Charlene Mitchell is their new Warehouse Manager, and that Mignon Hooper and Anthony Arthur have been welcomed to their board.
