Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta is now accepting applications for the Black-Led Nonprofit Legal Bootcamp, a free program for Black executive directors in Metro Atlanta. Apply by January 26th.

The Harvard Business School Club of Atlanta invites Georgia nonprofit leaders to apply by Feb. 5 for scholarships to attend the 2024 HBS Social Enterprise Executive Education program.

Grantmakers

Greater Augusta Arts Council has awarded City Arts Grants to several Richmond County arts nonprofits, including Morris Museum of Art.

South Arts celebrated their year-end funding total of $4.5 million, supporting the work of 293 artists and organizations fostering creativity and connections in their communities and beyond.

Georgia Interfaith Power and Light has granted $57,000 in matching grants to 20 faith communities in Georgia as part of their Power-Wise program.

Georgia Power Foundation awarded a $150,000 grant to The nsoro Educational Foundation to fund expansion of the nsoroWorks program in Georgia.

Partners

Apparo placed Primerica volunteers with Rainbow Village to provide recommendations for growing the organization to accommodate twice as many homeless families. Additionally, Apparo facilitated Alliant Health volunteers for HOPE Atlanta, who delivered a technology plan that enhances their ability to combat homelessness and saves over 20,000 hours of staff time annually.

Nonprofits

Through Catholic Charities Atlanta's annual Christmas Connections campaign, 4,134 individuals across 939 families received gifts with the assistance of 175 volunteers.

3D Girls, Inc. was awarded an $80,000 grant from the Pearl Milling Company to help transform their Girls Link Up Mentoring Model into a virtual space, linking girls from across the world.

United Way of Greater Atlanta received $250,000 from Kaiser Permanente to address homelessness.

To address public safety, Atlanta area nonprofits including Atlanta Mission, Atlanta Police Foundation, CHRIS 180, and United Way of Greater Atlanta each received part of $7 million in donations from QuikTrip.

At its 7th Annual Night for Sight Gala, Prevent Blindness Georgia raised $320,000.

Atlanta Mission, Covenant House Georgia, and Nicholas House received funding from Norfolk Southern Corporation to assist homeless individuals.

Georgia nonprofits including Open Hand, Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, and Partners for Home received funding from Aetna Better Health of Georgia to provide community nutrition and housing services.

▼ StreetWise Georgia's Inaugural Christmas Store served over 100 families and 338 kids, enabling parents to purchase presents within a price range of 25 cents to $20 per gift.

People

Birds Georgia welcomed Beth Allgood Blalock, Michael Chriszt, Colleen McEdwards, and Sally Sears to the board of directors.

The Atlanta Pride Committee elected Dewayne Queen and Elizabeth Fennell to its board.

TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation announced Chelsea Dorfeld, Amy Taylor, Karen Touchstone, Valerie Wagner, and Calvin Wright as new board members.

Intown Cares appointed Alexandra Kirk, Rob Shields, Kelly Goldston, Lindsey Barranco, and Dara Simmons to their board of directors.

Quality Care for Children announced Romvadee Overby, Vicki Raimey, Angela Walton, and Cristel Williams as new board members.
