Join us for a two-day series on writing effective outcome measures, the kind that will wow your funders, help your board define success, and focus your programs on results. We will also cover dashboard creation, enabling you to display your outcomes, and discuss ways to track your outcomes.
Learn the distinctions among outputs, outcomes, results, and intermediate impacts; how to avoid meaningless measures; and tricks for crafting strong outcome statements. You’ll be prepared to answer donors when they ask how you’re “moving the needle,” and to help your colleagues and superiors do the same. Anyone in development or programs, serving at the executive level or on the board, will gain a strong competitive advantage in learning to write outcomes that demonstrate your impact – how you make a difference – rather than simply restate your outputs.
These two sessions are highly interactive, requiring participants to work frequently, individually and in teams, writing outcome measures. Bring your current measures in any area – including for more challenging activity like prevention, advocacy, and direct service – and we will work to improve them.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:
- How to determine, write, and collect key performance indicators – aka outcome measures
- How to build a dashboard to keep track of your outcome measures
- How to set performance targets and revise them when needed
