In this workshop, we will explore microaggressions – what they are, how they occur in the workplace, and the harm they might be doing to your organization’s morale and culture – as well as the ways you, as a leader, can create a more inclusive environment. Following this interactive CEO-level presentation, you’ll possess the skills to be responsive and effective when microaggressions are witnessed or reported, including:
- How to identify microaggressions when you witness them
- Demonstrating empathy for those who feel marginalized
- Thoughtful ways to minimize the occurrence of microaggressions and their impact, and
- How to respond appropriately as a leader when microaggressions occur.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Melanie Calhoun leads Yardstick’s Management Diversity and Inclusion line of business. As a senior consultant with expertise in marketing management and diversity and inclusion initiatives, Melanie helps organizations improve D&I strategies by conducting assessments, helping to establish clear and measurable D&I goals, and creating long-term roadmaps to address the structural inequality that may exist. Before joining Yardstick, Melanie was a researcher in the Relationships and Social Cognition Lab at the University of California, Berkeley Psychology Department.
