To further your knowledge of nonprofit board service, GCN Consulting is proud to launch Board Bites for 2021: regular, one-hour workshops concerning nonprofit board governance issues, designed for board members and the staff who work with them, and all free for GCN members.
This month’s topic: Board Officers: What are They Anyway?
Learn the roles and responsibilities of the board chair, vice chair, treasurer, and secretary, from job responsibilities to methods officers can use to be at their most effective to the challenges of our current environment – especially for board chairs and treasurers.
For years, GCN consultants have been providing board training, facilitated retreats, and annual board development plans for the simple reason that nonprofits are often too busy doing the mission work to devote the resources required to manage their board. That’s why, in this time of changing expectations, we’re launching the Board Bites series: So you can be the rock star that every organization needs – governing, raising money, and helping achieve the mission – without costing them extra time or effort.
Covering a different topic every month, we will maintain a focus on board roles and responsibilities before taking a deeper dive into one or more related issues (see the schedule below) through a facilitated discussion. Bring your questions, comments, and ideas, and be ready to share and learn from each other.
