December 1, GAgives on GivingTuesday, is coming up soon! Whether that statement fills you with excitement or anxiety likely depends on how confident you feel about your nonprofit’s promotional plans.
The good news? There’s still a lot you can do to make a big impact on December 1! And you can learn all about it on November 10, when media veteran Jennifer Grove Camacho (bio below) will host a new workshop on creating content that moves people to action – even in these times of high uncertainty and mounting distractions.
In this one-hour workshop, Jennifer will cover:
Basic tools for visual storytelling, including low-cost equipment options to help elevate your videos;
Shooting and editing using your computer and phone, including simple hacks to create content with the tools you already have at your fingertips;
Mining for content, including ways to avoid “reinventing the wheel” by repurposing photos and videos you might be overlooking; and
Zoom-ing in on what works, including ways to think outside the “video conference” box and spice up your communications through the COVID-era platform of choice, Zoom.
Bonus opportunity: One nonprofit media pitch will be selected at random for a complimentary review and 30-minute consultation, and then used as case studies for the full workshop audience. To enter drawing, create a folder with your org name, then add in a word doc with your nonprofit’s media pitch HERE by November 9th. (Be sure to include links to photos and video in your document!)
A 2019 Atlanta Business Chronicle 40 under 40 awardee and LEAD Atlanta graduate, Jennifer Grove Camacho has spent a decade working in small-, medium-, and large-market television stations, producing well over 1,500 stories as a reporter, a multi-platform producer, and a community affairs manager. After 7 years focused largely on sharing nonprofit narratives, Jennifer launched PLOT My Story, a media creation and consulting company that helps put stories “on the map.”
