Danny Kanso of the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute will walk you through Georgia’s spending priorities for the upcoming year, which promise to make a substantial impact on Georgia’s nonprofits – particularly those working in education, workforce development, health care, poverty reduction, and other social services. We’ll also cover how the budget process works and how you can help advocate for a people-first budget that ensures support for your organization and your clients.

Following his education at the University of Georgia, where he earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees, Danny Kanso served as director of communications and policy advisor for the Office of Lt. Governor Casey Cagle. During his time under the Gold Dome, Danny worked to advance a wide range of legislative issues and initiatives. As a PhD candidate at the University of Georgia, he is in the final stages of completing his doctorate in American Politics and Public Policy. Since 2019, Danny has worked to support the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute’s mission of advancing lasting solutions to expand economic opportunity and well-being for all Georgians.
