Grantmakers

The Arby’s Foundation donated $1 million to eliminate school lunch debt for over 47,000 students in 762 schools nationwide, including a combined $203,534 across four metro Atlanta school districts.

Gas South is now accepting applications for its Impact Investment Awards, providing up to $100,000 for organizations serving children in terms of basic needs, education, illness, or disability.

Nonprofits

Chattahoochee Nature Center received a donation from Publix Supermarket Charities in support of their Unity Garden.

Teach STEM Africa partnered with AcaSTEMics to become the official supplier of STEM kits to schools in Ghana for the Ghana 2024 Professional Development Series in June.

Wellroot Family Services received a $1 million Housing and Urban Development grant from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs to provide transitional housing, rapid rehousing, and other services for homeless young adults in Hall County.

Food Well Alliance received $200,000 from Direct Relief’s Fund for Health Equity to expand its community garden and orchard programs, promoting non-clinical health interventions. In addition, Food Well announced that it will distribute $110,000 in grants to 62 Atlanta-area community gardens, advancing its mission to foster healthier communities.

HomeAid and volunteers from Davidson Homes packed 500 hygiene and HomeAid CareKits to be distributed by the DeKalb Library Foundation in support of homeless library patrons.

TheraPink for Girls was awarded a $10,000 grant by the LuluMa Foundation. 

Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation received $100,000 from the Georgia Baptist Health Care Ministry Foundation for its Tele-Optometry vision program, aiding uninsured and underinsured Georgians.

Park Pride is allocating $3.9 million in grants to more than thirty parks in Atlanta and DeKalb County this year.

Atlanta Community Food Bank was one of four food banks in the US to receive support from a $1 million Kroger Co. Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation grant made to Feeding America.

Atlanta Pride welcomed Alexa Bryant as their new Development Manager.

The Mom Community welcomed Charmaine Davis, Alexa Mason, and Tracey Goddard-Johnson to their board of directors

TheraPink for Girls announced new board members Catie Williams and English Walker.

Paint Love appointed Brandon Roldan to its board of directors. 

TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation announced Lois Rusco as Executive Director.

The National Center for Civil and Human Rights welcomed Mohammad “Mo” Azam, Karen Bennett, Soon Mee Kim, and Justin Sullivan to its board of directors.

Covenant House Georgia welcomed Richard DavisKimberley EustonAngela FrazierBrigitte Killings, Lillie Louis-Fils, and Hugh Rowden to its board of directors.

Agnes Scott College announced Malaika Dowdell as its new Associate Vice President of Communications and Marketing.

LifeLine Animal Project welcomed new board members Elizabeth Benator, Arman DeganianPallavi Kodlikeri, and Susan Neugent.

Southern Conservation Trust announced Chris Doane as their new Executive Director and President.
