Our list of grant and award opportunities for you to consider this month includes opportunities from The Home Depot Foundation, Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, Kohl's, and The Mary Kay Foundation.

The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta

An Extra Wish
Deadline: February 20, 2015
These grants are awarded to assist organizations with smaller items that don’t find into a traditional funding stream, matching the “wishes” of a nonprofit with donors interested in making a contribution. Whether it’s a new phone system, a copier, MARTA Breeze cards or gift cards, these gifts make a big difference.


The Home Depot Foundation
Veteran Housing Grants
Deadlines: February 24 and June 23, 2015
The Home Depot Foundation’s (THDF) Veteran Housing Grants Program awards grants to nonprofit organizations for the development and repair of veterans housing. To date, the Foundation has awarded nearly $80 million, and has helped impact over 12,000 units of housing for veterans. Awards typically range from $100,000 to $500,000.

The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta
Strategic Restructuring Fund
Deadline: March 6, 2015
The purpose of the Strategic Restructuring Fund is to provide funds and/or management consulting services to support nonprofits as they assess, negotiate, design and/or implement substantive strategic restructuring efforts that seek to promote more effective operations and high-performing programs based on community needs and assets.


ArtPlace America
Community Development Investments
Deadline: March 12, 2015
ArtPlace will select one organization in each of six regions that is interested in sustainably incorporating arts and cultural strategies into the organization’s work, providing up to $3 million in funding per organization.

Kohl's Cares Scholarships
Deadline: March 13, 2015
Kohl's is accepting nominations for the 2015 Kohl’s Cares Scholarships, an annual program that recognizes youth between the ages of 6 and 18 who, through their volunteerism, have had a positive impact on their communities. Scholarships and prizes will be awarded at three levels: Store winners,  each of whom will receive a $50 Kohl’s Gift Card; regional winners, each of whom will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship  toward their post-secondary education; and national winners,  each of whom will receive a $10,000 scholarship, and an award of $1,000 forthe nonprofit organization of their choice.

Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta
Neighborhood Fund
Deadline: March 13, 2015
Neighborhood Fund provides resources to community groups (non-501(c)3) seeking to impact their community at the local level. Since 1991, more than 300 neighborhood projects have received an estimated $2,000,000 in grants and technical assistance to support community organizing, neighborhood gardens, youth fitness activities, cultural events and more.


The Home Depot Foundation
Community Impact Grants
Deadline: Rolling
Grants, up to $5,000, are available to IRS-registered 501c designated organizations and tax-exempt public service agencies in the U.S. that are using the power of volunteers to improve the physical health of their community. Grants are given in the form of The Home Depot gift cards for the purchase of tools, materials, or services.

The Mary Kay Foundation
Domestic Violence Shelter Grant Program
Deadline: April 30, 2015
The goal of the Mary Kay Foundation is to eliminate domestic violence. As  part of this effort, the foundation makes grants to organizations in the United States that assist survivors of domestic violence by operating emergency shelters. The grants are announced each October in observance of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
