Our list of grant and award opportunities for you to consider this month includes the long-standing 11Alive Community Service Awards program, as well as grant opportunities in design, community projects, and programming for women and girls.


40th Annual Community Service Awards
Deadline: January 14, 2015
Now in its 40th year, the 11Alive Community Service Awards honor 11 outstanding local volunteers who have demonstrated selfless devotion for the betterment of the community. This is a great opportunity to recognize one of your nonprofit’s volunteer superstars.


2015 Technology Innovation Award
Deadline: February 2, 2015
The Award, given by Accenture, will be granted to a deserving Georgia nonprofit with an innovative concept for using technology to better serve the community.  If you (or a nonprofit with which you work) have a compelling vision for a technology project that your organization would like to implement, TechBridge wants to hear from you. The winner will receive up to $30,000 in TechBridge consulting services and cash and thousands of dollars in donated software; two finalists each receive a TechBridge technology assessment and a $1,000 cash grant.  


12 Days of Design
Deadline: Nominations through December 21, 2014
SF-based startup 99designs has just launched their third annual “12 Days of Design” initiative that gives nonprofits everywhere a chance to win free professional design work for any project, from logos to t-shirts, mailers, and more.

Walmart Foundation
Community Grant Program
Deadline: December 31, 2014
Grants of up to $2,500 will be awarded to local nonprofit organizations within the service area of individual Walmart stores in support of initiatives in the areas of hunger relief and healthy eating, sustainability, women's economic empowerment, and/or career opportunities.

1 for 1 Grant Match Program
Deadline: Ongoing
Elevation, which focuses on web design, programming and other media-related work, will match money you spend on their services dollar-for-dollar up to $800,000.

American Association of University Women
Community Action Grants
Deadline: January 15, 2015
Community Action Grants provide funds to individuals, AAUW branches, and AAUW state organizations as well as local community-based nonprofit organizations for innovative programs or non-degree research projects that promote education and equality for women and girls.
