Our list of grant and resource opportunities for you to consider this month includes opportunities from the Atlanta Foundation, Georgia Humanities and United Way of Greater Atlanta.


Emma Barnsley Foundation

Deadline: August 31, 2015
Funding support for organizations that promote the prevention of cruelty to animals and for the study, care, protection, and preservation of animals, both domestic and wild, and their environment.

Atlanta Foundation
Various Nonprofit Grants
Deadline: September 1, 2015
Financial assistance for charitable and educational institutions located in Fulton County or DeKalb County, Georgia that promote education or scientific research; advance care for the sick, aged, or helpless; improve living conditions; provide recreation for all classes; and such other charitable purposes as will improve the mental, moral, and physical life of the inhabitants of Fulton and DeKalb counties regardless of race, color, or creed.

Grant Program
Deadline: September 30, 2015
Georgia Humanities grants fund humanities-based cultural and educational programs in local communities.

John and Maria Laffin Trust
Education and Research Grants
Deadline: October 31, 2015
Grants provided to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations supporting education, animal welfare, medical research, and human services.

Clif Bar Family Foundation
Environmental Grants
Deadline: November 1, 2015
Clif Bar Family Foundation Small Grants are awarded for general organizational support or to fund specific projects. The grants, averaging approximately $8,000 each, are awarded four times per year.

United Way of Greater Atlanta
Emergency Food and Shelter (EFSP) Funding
Deadline: December 18, 2015
Funds available for nonprofit organizations that have been in operation for at least three years and provide one or more of the following services: mass shelter; mass feeding; other food services; temporary housing.

The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation
Nonprofit Grants
Deadline: TBD in December 2015 (funding recommendations submitted at next quarterly meeting)
Grants awarded for a wide range of initiatives to strengthen the humanities, arts, higher education, and cultural heritage.
