GCN President and CEO Karen Beavor has been named to the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s inaugural list of 50 influential nonprofit leaders in the metro region.
GCN welcomes Tim Johnson to the team as Vice President of Consulting and Professional Services. Johnson has more than 25 years of management and consulting expertise and is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force. In his role, Johnson will head GCN’s Nonprofit Consulting Group.
Steve Ferencie, Partner and Strategy & Transformation Practice Leader with IBM Global Business Services, has joined GCN’s board of directors.
We released our 2013 Annual Report: Fueling Impact. The report, shows how we continued to leverage our influence, know-how, and assets to forge powerful partnerships, help great ideas scale, and produce High Performance Nonprofits across Georgia.
GCN President and CEO Karen Beavor is serving on the host committee for this year’s Service Unites Conference on Volunteering and Service, convened by Points of Light in Atlanta on June 16-18.
GCN’s very own Opportunity Knocks launched their mobile site, providing services and education for nonprofit employers and jobseekers on the go. 30,000 nonprofit employers used OK to connect to nonprofit professionals in 2013.
In our continuing partnership with The Home Depot Foundation, we held a successful networking event for Building Community Network honorees and alumni at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia.
Alongside our partners at The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, we hosted a powerful and revealing briefing on the challenges faced by veterans and veterans’ services nonprofits in learning about and securing funding from the federal and state government.
