Paul Snyder, InterContinental Hotels Group’s Vice President of Corporate Responsibility and Public Affairs, welcomed the crowd to the InterContinental Buckhead hotel. Speaking as the chair of GCN’s 2014 Corporate Sustainers Steering Committee, he said he’s proud to support an organization that “doesn’t just represent one cause, but fuels the social sector to make a difference.” He also appreciated GCN’s work, “which everyone is experiencing today with this event,” to bring “the right players together, aligning the efforts of nonprofits, funders, companies, and community stakeholders.”
Featuring keynote speaker Bill Bolling of the Atlanta Community Food Bank and a series of interactive workshops on fundraising, board management, and grant opportunities, the day-long event provided a dynamic forum for nonprofit leaders working beyond the city center.
On October 15, GCN held our annual Board Leadership Clinic, sponsored by Mauldin & Jenkins and hosted in downtown Atlanta. Board members and chairs, executive directors and CEOs, managers and administrators convened early Tuesday morning to begin a day of interactive presentations and workshops tackling the whys and hows of an effective nonprofit board.
